2009 Viognier: Our newest release June 13, 2010
Retail Price: $14.95
Our first release of the summer is our 2009 Viognier. With grapes sourced from the Bitner Vineyard it has come out the gates swinging. Bright tropical fruit and a hint of vanilla the nose gives just a hint of the floral character that will develop over time. The palate echoes the nose of tropical fruit but with more stone fruit and melon. It's a perfect sipper for the summertime or with summer salads and lighter dinners on the patio.
2008 Syrah:
Retail Price: $22.95
Released in January 2009 our Syrah is our signature red wine. The most promising red variety to come out of Idaho yet, it is smooth and just a bit spicy with amazing fruit character.
Originally a Rhone Valley varietal we do our best to use lighter oak in order to preserve the floral and fruit character of this fruit forward wine. The nose is black currant, black cherry, and black pepper followed by a palate of dark berry, cherry and spice finishing with a hint of raspberry.
We love this wine with almost any dinner but our personal favorite is to pair it with a medium rare prime rib shared and an Idaho baked potato!
2008 Merlot
Retail $19.95 per 750 ml
or $9.95 per 375 ml
If you're looking for a big bold Merlot this wine is for you.
With a distinctive nose of cognac, earthy notes, and coffee and tea aromas it gives way to a robust palate of cherries, light oak, and a slightly burnt sugar and caramel finish.
It pairs well with a variety of red sauces and is a particularly nice pairing with Idaho Lamb.
2008 Late Harvest Chardonnay
Retail: $13.95 per 375 ml
or $19.95 per 750 ml
Our Late Harvest Chardonnay is the newest addition to the FFC wine family. A lighter alternative to Ice Wines and other dessert wines, it's focus is on the fruit.
With sweetness and a bit of tart acidity it has luscious apple, pear, peach, and apricot with a slightly deceptive melon and honeydew nose. Meant to be served alone as a finish to a great dinner; or with cheesecake, strawberry shortcake, or our personal favorite, fresh blueberries and angelfood cake, it will be a great compliment to any summertime or early fall gathering.
