Martin grew up in Adrian, OR, along the Oregon/Idaho border. He spent his youth working on the family farm, where he gained a great appreciation for the hard work, and the joy, that can be found in working directly with the soil and plants that thrived in it.
After High School, he attended The College of Idaho, where he obtained a degree in Business. He returned to the family farm and spent 6 years as a Row Crop Farmer, raising 400 acres of corn, beans, hay, onions and alfalfa seed. During that time, He also began working in the tasting room of Koenig Winery and Distillery. He enjoyed meeting the diverse groups of people from all over the globe that came into the tasting room, and gained an appreciation of wine, as well as the distilling process.
Over time, Martin phased out of the Row Crop Farming and increased assisting Greg Koenig with wine production. His experience increased when he began aiding Ron and Mary Bitner in the vineyards. In 2007, he quit farming entirely and devoted all his efforts to vineyard management and winery operations.
Learning the trade through work experience, as well as through classes offered at Walla Walla Community College and UC Davis, he has had a front row seat in the development of the Idaho Wine Industry. The opportunity to take wines from new vineyard plantings to the bottle, has been an extraordinary journey reflected in the release of his first wines. As Fujishin Family Cellars enters the wine industry, Martin is excited at the opportunity to showcase his take on Northwest wines.
Martin would like to thank his family and friends for all their support in his new venture. He would also like to thank Koenig Winery and Distillery, and Bitner Vineyards for helping him get his start in the wine industry. As well as their continuing support as he develops his own winery.

Born in Los Angeles, CA, Teresa has had a rather nomadic childhood living in various places throughout California, Oklahoma, Utah and North Carolina. In 1990, she married and settled down in North Carolina. She was a full time parent for most of that time, assisted in Church responsiblities and took odd jobs when finances became thin.
After divorcing in 2007, Teresa became friends with Martin through the internet. In August of 2008, they met at a mutual friends wedding, where he introduced her to Koenig's Ice Wine and she was hooked. In December of 2008, Martin convinced her to move to Idaho to enjoy its bounties first hand.
These days she helps with the labeling, website, and as anyone in the industry knows, the full time job of keeping a winemaker in line.

Tess was born sometime in December 2008 in Homedale, ID. She convinced Teresa of her abilities as a support staff with one sad look and a tentative lick. Her wine savvy was confirmed when she eagerly licked up some wayward merlot and wagged her tail for more. She loves to play tag with the sprinklers, romping with TJ on the front lawn, and chewing every piece of wood within a 100 foot radius.
TJ joined the team in May after a much awaited appearance. He is very much in the training process and is just beginning to make his mark, which hopefully is out on the front lawn. His border collie tendencies give him enough tenacity to run with Tess and herd the winemaker, while his mischievious and sneaky nature make him a natural in the protection of wine production.
